What is this food?
Chicken with asparagus (and rice/“str” as the usual pairing). This is a lean, protein-forward meal with asparagus for extra fiber.
Why it matters to health
Chicken helps build and maintain muscles and supports healthy body functions. Asparagus adds dietary fiber (helps keep your digestion regular) and low carbs with very little sugar. The fat here is low, and there’s some saturated fat, so it’s best to keep portions reasonable—especially if you’re also eating other fatty or salty viands in the same day. Sodium is also low, which is good for everyday eating.
Healthier tips
    • Pair with rice or other carbs in a balanced plate: about 1/4 plate chicken, 1/4 asparagus, and 1/2 plate rice or other carbs.
    • For snacks, keep them lighter (e.g., fruit or yogurt) so your day stays balanced with 3 meals + 1–2 snacks.
    • Go easy on added salt and sauces; use garlic, pepper, lemon, or herbs for flavor.
    • If you’re watching cholesterol/saturated fat, choose skinless chicken and avoid deep-frying.
